We produce custom made test kits used to evaluate the performance of material handling systems in a number of ways: technology evaluation, application feasibility testing, system commissioning accuracy/ performance testing, system stress testing, and in standardizing the correct placement and test of cameras, scanners, size/weight detection devices, or other subsystems used to monitor complex system performance. The most common use of our kits is FIAT Testing (Final Inspection & Acceptance Test).
We can provide standardized tool kits unique to specific customer requirements that can allow for identical test conditions at multiple locations. Our test kits have been used on the full range of traditionally available “high speed” unit sorting systems and conveyors, as well as other subsystems like automatic palletizers, robotic loading/unloading subsystems, and flats handling systems. Our test kits have been used for Vendor evaluation/selection where each vendor can be evaluated under similar test conditions using identical test kits
We have been in the test kit business since 1996, providing custom-built test kits for the USPS, Emery, Airborne, UPS, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Siemens, Rapistan, Paxis, Crisplant, FedEx, Amazon, as well as system integrators. We have also provided site management test services for large kits. We have produced about 5,000,000+ test pieces (letters, flats, bundles, small parcels, large parcels, very large parcels, sacks, tubs, trays, and other specified “odds & ends.” Our kits provide test pieces that cover a complete range of surface types, sizes, degrees of package degradation, and multi-weights that enter the automation stream for packages and flats.
We provided test parcels/flats and site services to UPS for accuracy testing at Chicago (CACFl) and Columbus. We also supplied test mail and site testing services for the Emery Priority Mail Network (PMPC) at 10 sites. The USPS used our services for the multi-year competition for the APPS Program (SPBS-NextGen System).
We know how to make test decks, as well as provide performance testing of deployed unit sorting systems. Our reputation is that we know how to make test pieces that will survive the repetitive requirements unique to system testing. Weight standards are achieved by using materials that will not damage the material handling system (clothes, books, paperbacks, newspapers, etc.). We also use “industrial bubble wrap” and expanding foam to fill voids inside the container to stabilize the weight component which extends the useful life of each test package. Typical weight ranges are as light as 0.10 lbs up to 100 lbs.
We stock a wide range of parcels/flats/sacks/tubs/trays and fill materials to be able to provide fast turnaround for specified sizes/weights. Typical delivery times for test kits of several thousand units with a variety of weights are measured within a few days ARO. Our specialty is quick response for proposals and price, plus quick delivery.
Our test kits are suitable for formalized acceptance testing procedures because they give the “end-user” and “system provider” a fair and realistic representation of the performance capabilities of the system being tested in comparison to the contractual operational specifications.
